Chelsea scouting “fantastic” Portuguese forward who is a “little leader on the pitch”

Chelsea spent heavily during the summer transfer window, committing around £349m to reshape their squad and add more young talent.

The Blues broke their club record to sign Morgan Rogers, while Geovany Quenda, Valentín Barco, Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra and Emi Martínez were among the other additions made during a hectic window.

Despite that huge outlay, Chelsea are already looking further ahead and continuing to track some of the most promising young players in the game.

One name now on their radar is a highly-rated Championship prospect.

Chelsea Scouting Mateus Mané

Chelsea are among the clubs monitoring Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Mateus Mané as the teenager continues to attract interest from across Europe, according to Football 360.

The 18-year-old has established himself as one of the Championship’s most exciting young attackers and is also eligible to represent both Portugal and England at international level.

Mané has impressed with his ability on the wing and his maturity despite his age, with former Wolves boss Rob Edwards previously describing him as a “fantastic” player and a “little leader on the pitch”.

Chelsea are understood to have maintained a watching brief on the youngster, although they face competition from a host of Premier League rivals.

Liverpool and Manchester United have already made direct contact regarding Mané, while Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham are also understood to be keeping tabs on his development.

Wolves, meanwhile, have little desire to sell. Mané is contracted until 2029 and is viewed as an important part of the club’s long-term plans, meaning Chelsea would likely have to make a substantial offer to tempt them into doing business.
