The The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern are over the moon today with the news that they’ve signed Connor Goldson on a permanent deal from Premier League outfit, Brighton and Hove Albion. The 25-year-old was announced as a Ger on the Rangers website and he’ll be looking forward to starting off his Rangers career under Steven Gerrard.

The English centre-back has signed a four year deal with the Glasglow club and will most likely be called upon by the ex-Liverpool and England captain to start alongside Bruno Alves at the heart of the Ibrox club’s defence. Gerrard has been bolstering the club in the areas needed and with Connor Goldson now added to the club’s backline, plus the signing of Nikola Katic yesterday, the defensive issues at the club should be sorted.
The fans were worried at the start of the window that they wouldn’t be able to sign many players with the club’s finances highlighted as a supposed issue. Gerrard has proved those fans wrong though as a number of smart deals for players on cheap deals has provided them with a lot of strengthening so far, and we’re not even a month into the window. The fans will be hoping that the best is yet to come.
