Rayner, chief writer at The Yorkshire Post, was present at Anfield and relayed commentary of the game on Twitter, informing his followers: “Harrison looks like he’s tweaked something. 15 minutes to go, all #LUFC subs on.”
He spotted the Leeds winger struggling late on, with the 25-year-old unable to track Jordan Henderson, who set up Sadio Mane for the hosts’ fourth goal of the night. The journalist duly tweeted: “Harrison’s injury meant he was unable to follow Henderson, who pulled it back for Mane.”
The Verdict: Fingers crossed
Bielsa admitted after the game that he didn’t spot Harrison struggling, but Rayner’s observation may well be a worrying one just a couple of days before Leeds host Antonio Conte’s side.
The 25-year-old has been a regular in the matchday squad this season, missing out just once. He was the star in Leeds’ last league win against West Ham, and with several key players already sidelined, Bielsa could do without any further injury issues.
Hopefully, Harrison is passed fit to make the squad once again on Saturday, and a win over Spurs could prove significant as the Whites seek a change in fortunes.
