Jack Wilshere reveals he is back in full training ahead of Everton clash

Who could have predicted how West Ham United’s first season under Manuel Pellegrini would have gone considering the additions he made in the summer? However, one thing that you would have been able to predict is that Jack Wilshere would have spent a lot of time on the sidelines.

The former Arsenal midfielder has spent the majority of the campaign on the treatment table with an ankle problem, having played just the four first games at the start of the season and a brief substitute appearance.

However, it appears things have started to look optimistic for the 27-year-old as he could be close to a return to action.

What’s the News?

Ben Dinnery, who is a freelance injury analyst, has revealed that Wilshere has confirmed that he is back in full training and could be available for the final few games of the season.

“I am back in full training – it has been a long time, frustrating but it was something I had to do,” he said. “I am trying to get fit [but] it is not a great time to come back because you maybe play a couple of games and then the season finishes.”

The Verdict:

Although Wilshere has a really poor record when it comes down to injuries, West Ham would have hoped that he was beyond his worst period and would have been able to play a key role for the Hammers as they look to improve and take things to the next level.

However, the fact that he is now fit for the final few games of the campaign will come as a boost to Pellegrini and the London Stadium outfit as he will have the chance to show what he can really bring to the pitch and make a real difference.

When given the opportunity, the 27-year-old has the ability to pull the strings from the middle of the pitch and can provide the Hammers with some much-needed creativity from the central areas and will give the attackers more chances to be able to find the back of the net, which arguably has been missed at times.

Everton should prove to be a really difficult test as both sides look to finish as high up the Premier League table as possible this season, however, having Wilshere back available could give the Irons the upper-hand next weekend and be the difference in potentially picking up all three points.

West Ham fans, are you happy to see Wilshere fit and available for the remainder of the season? Do you think he will make a positive difference to the side? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
