Manchester City centre-back John Stones is reportedly preparing to leave the club this summer, with former side Everton showing interest in a return, according to TalkSPORT.
The England international has made just four Premier League starts this season and is out of contract, with City understood to have no plans to extend his deal.
Persistent injury problems have also forced Stones to withdraw from the England squad recently, putting his spot at the upcoming World Cup at risk.
Stones has enjoyed a decorated spell at Manchester City, winning six Premier League titles, three League Cups, two FA Cups, and the Champions League. Pep Guardiola has described him as “excellent,” praising his composure and defensive qualities.
However, injuries have increasingly hampered his contributions in recent seasons. Once a mainstay in Guardiola’s side, Stones now faces a career crossroads, with Everton ready to offer him a pathway back to familiar surroundings.
