Journalist: There is still time for Man City to complete this massive deal as deadline day looms

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited at the prospect of Alexis Sanchez moving to the Etihad…

The Sky Blues have been linked heavily with a move for the Chilean over the last day or so, with Pep Guardiola seemingly keen to land a big deal before the summer transfer window comes to an end.

It would certainly be a seismic move, but with their first offer having been rejected, the fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned that a deal won’t happen.

Fortunately, according to James Olley of the Evening Standard, a move is not yet dead. Rather, Olley suggests that the mere fact that Arsenal are open to negotiations seems to suggest that their stance is wavering, and whilst it would require a massive move, he notes that a deal could still happen before tomorrow’s deadline.

This does offer a dose of optimism for the Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern, with Sanchez a dream target amongst supporters.

Sanchez was a regular for Arsenal last season, bagging 24 league goals for the Gunners.

Landlord’s Verdict

This deal would be massive in a number of ways. The transfer fee is likely to be seismic, of course, but his arrival would take Man City’s attack into another dimension – and this is certainly exciting our landlord.

A move will still be difficult to find, and Man City will have to spend big to make it happen, but there is certainly a chance.

A move could have huge implications, as his arrival would perhaps leave Man City too heavy on attacking talent. They’ve never been a side to shy away from playing with a lot of attackers, but it’s something to consider ahead of deadline day
