Manchester City are bracing for yet another summer of major changes, with several high-profile departures already expected.
Club captain Bernardo Silva looks set to move on, while players such as Omar Marmoush, James Trafford and Savinho could also be heading for the exit.
There is even uncertainty surrounding Rodri, who has hinted he may be open to a return to Spain despite his importance to Pep Guardiola’s side.
And now, another name is beginning to surface as a potential departure.
Juventus Monitoring Reijnders
Juventus are “keeping a close eye” on Tijjani Reijnders as they weigh up a possible summer move for the Manchester City midfielder.
The 27-year-old only joined City from AC Milan last summer in a deal worth over £46 million, but his role has diminished in recent months after initially making a strong impression.
That dip in minutes has alerted several clubs in Italy, with Juventus among those monitoring developments closely in case he becomes available. A return to Serie A could appeal to Reijnders, given his previous success there.
Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke underlined the level of interest, saying: “Tijjani Reijnders will have a number of suitors because he’s a top quality player. He made quite an encouraging start to life at Man City when he joined from AC Milan, he was starting regularly, but since the turn of the year he’s not featured as regularly.”
He added: “Reijnders is still very highly rated in Italy, he had a great season with Milan before his move to Man City. There are a lot of the top Italian clubs, Juventus and the rest, keeping a close eye on his situation at Man City as well in case he becomes available.”
With City expected to reshape their squad once again, the Dutch international’s future could hinge on how Guardiola views his role heading into next season.
This feels like one of those quietly brewing transfers that can suddenly accelerate.
Reijnders isn’t being pushed out — but he’s no longer untouchable either. And when that happens at a club like City, the rest of Europe tends to start circling fast.
