Manchester City are preparing for a new era following a summer of significant change at the Etihad Stadium.

The exits of long-serving stars Bernardo Silva and John Stones have also marked the end of an era, while uncertainty continues to surround Rodri, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
With Maresca beginning to reshape his squad, City now appear to be closing in on a midfielder who could eventually fill the Spaniard’s role.
Man City In Talks for Bouaddi
Manchester City are in advanced talks to sign Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi, having already agreed personal terms with the midfielder, according to talkSPORT.
The Morocco international, described as “intelligent” by former France captain Patrick Vieira, is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young midfielders after an outstanding breakthrough campaign and impressive performances at the 2026 World Cup.
Lille are believed to value the teenager at around £86 million, although they are willing to lower that figure if a deal includes either a season-long loan back to France or a pre-agreement structure. City’s preference, however, is to sign Bouaddi and keep him at the Etihad immediately.
The move could also have a major impact on Rodri’s future. Real Madrid have opened talks over signing the Spain international, who is entering the final year of his contract.
While City would still prefer to keep Rodri, securing Bouaddi’s signature would leave them in a far stronger position should the Ballon d’Or winner decide to pursue a move to the Bernabéu.
Either way, the move reshapes the Premier League title race heading into the new campaign.
