The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for Mauricio Pochettino to bring in some quality to rival Harry Kane going forward. The attacker has been Spurs’ main threat in front of goal for years, and nobody has been able to compete with him.
We recently made the case that Memphis Depay would be the perfect man to do just that.
The Dutchman has enjoyed a brilliant year over in France for Lyon, having bagged 19 goals and 13 assists in Ligue 1. His influence going forward is huge, and so alongside someone like Kane, you’d think that would be a match made in heaven.
That’s something that Tottenham fans seem to think, anyway.
We recently asked Spurs fans whether the Dutchman would be a good partner for Kane, and 63% of those polled responded with a resounding yes.
They’ve clearly seen just how impressive he has been over in France.
He’s been unrecognisable from the form that showed in the Premier League last time out for Man Utd. He’s grown in stature, confidence, and most of all, quality, and a step back into the Premier League makes sense as he looks to prove himself.
Spurs would be wise to land him, and a move would be popular with a lot of fans, it seems.
