It finally looks like Sunderland are going to be relegated this season, with David Moyes and his players not quite having enough to stave off relegation to the Championship.

Despite the goals of Jermain Defoe, the club have struggled in the majority this season, and Championship football is beckoning.

The Black Cats fans who have been popping to the Tavern for a beer or two this week seem resigned to their fate, but they have been having plenty of chat around what’s going to happen in the summer, with plenty of movement both in and out of the club to be expected.

David Moyes – if still in charge – will no doubt want to shuffle his pack, and there are plenty in the Sunderland squad who will be looking over their shoulders.

With this in mind, here’s THREE Sunderland players who could be on their way out of Sunderland this summer…

Jack Rodwell

The former Everton man is another example of a young English player being over hyped and not living up to the billing in the Premier League.

Rodwell has a bad record as a player in general, his win percentage being very poor when he’s started games, and he could well be one who could be on his way.

Steven Pienaar

Another ex Everton man, Pienaar is not getting any younger and with Sunderland going down, his big wages won’t be helping matters.

Pienaar has been quality in his day, but his time at Sunderland has not been a success and he could well be on the move this summer.

Paddy McNair

A signing for Sunderland who came from Manchester United, but he has hardly looked a former Man United player so far.

McNair is another who might well fall into the bracket of being over-hyped a bit, and will no doubt be on big wages. He is definitely someone who could be moved on this summer, despite not being with the club too long.
