Reports in Spain suggest that Barcelona striker, Bojan Krkic is a transfer target for both Liverpool and Arsenal.
With the wealth of talent available to the Barcelona manager, it has been difficult for the youngster to establish himself in the first team. After spending the majority of the season on the bench, Bojan is believed to be looking elsewhere in order to guarantee himself first team football.
The young striker promised much in his first season in the Barcelona shirt under former coach, Frank Rijkaard after breaking records as the youngest Barcelona to ever score in both La Liga and in the Champions League.
Since the arrival of Pep Guardiola he has struggled to make the sort of impact and has been left on the periphery of the squad, largely being used as a substitute. Despite his abundance of talent and enthusiasm for the game, it has been difficult for the Catalan to break into a line-up consisting of so much attacking prowess. With Guardiola’s reluctance to rotate the players in his squad, it has left Bojan with no other choice but to move on in the summer.
Liverpool and Arsenal are the two clubs leading the chase for the striker but will face stiff competition from clubs all around Europe. Arsenal are expected to spend big this summer in order to challenge for major honours next season after a disappointing campaign.
Kenny Dalglish will also be hoping to make an impact in the transfer market after signing a 3 year contract at Liverpool. Dalglish and Damien Comolli are confident that Bojan would add to their options in attack and could make the Merseyside club a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League next season as they aim for a Champions League spot.
With Barcelona seeking to add to their squad over the summer it looks as though they would be comfortable to let the striker leave in order to finance their own transfer projects over the summer. Therefore, if Wenger is to persist with his strict transfer policy again this summer then ‘King Kenny’ might just reap the benefits.
