Koeman should ask the owners to sanction these 2 last-minute deals before 11pm on Tuesday

Everton are having a decent season under Ronald Koeman, and our Toffees fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been a content bunch overall this term.

The Dutch manager left his post at Southampton – where he had done a great job – to take up the mantle at Goodison Park and try to finally bring some success to the blue half of Merseyside.

Koeman has invested well in his squad already in January, with the captures of Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman the two most noteworthy.

However, some talk this this week at our bar has been around if Koeman will delve into the transfer market once more before the end of January, and our landlord thinks he might just do that.

Here, we take a look at TWO last-minute deals Ronald Koeman should look to seal before the end of the window…

Jay Rodriguez

Not averse to going back to his former clubs and players he knows well, Koeman could well choose to make a move the recently fit again Rodriguez.

Despite featuring for Southampton, the former Burnley man might be open to a new challenge himself, and Koeman might look to tempt him to Goodison.

Rodriguez is a fine forward player, and he would add another dimension to Everton’s attacks.

Andros Townsend

Despite being linked to Newcastle in this window, Townsend is more than capable of performing in the Premier League at a high level under the right manager.

The England international has pace to burn and is a constant threat down either wing. With Yannick Bolasie out injured, Townsend could be the man to plug the gap.

If Koeman can get Townsend back into top form, he would have an excellent player on his hands.
