This weekend marked the start of the EFL season and plenty of fans have been absolutely buzzing with the return of club football. Leeds United kicked off Marcelo Bielsa’s reign with a thumping 3-1 win over Stoke at Elland Road and of all the top performances from The Whites, Liam Cooper has been singled out for praise from the fans after his superb showing.
Excellent performances all round today but Cooper would be the pick of them I think. Phillips seemed to thrive in the role he's been given too (allowing for the tangle which led to the penalty). As for Roofe, a credit to him that Bamford didn't even make it off the bench.

The Leeds fans seem to have got their energy back after seeing yesterday’s resounding win and will be looking forward to the next 45 Championship games as the end goal of promotion finally looks attainable for the fans after some of them have forgotten what Premier League football feels like. The Yorkshire club was relegated in 2004 and the end of this season will mark 15 years outside of the top flight, the longest spell in their history.
For now, some of the fans are trying to remain focused on the short term and will be putting thoughts of promotion on hold for now as they continue to bed in Bielsa and adapt to the Argentinian’s style of play. Liam Cooper looks to have taken to Bielsa-ball like a duck to water and considering Pontus Jansson is also yet to come into the team, it seems that Cooper’s performances will only get better as the long Championship season looks to get going.

Cooper’s critics have shut up too. Cooper can add a lot to a team and he was superb today! Two more signings and we are set imo. #MOT from #Gibraltar
