Leeds fans take to Twitter to slate Pompey as club rolls over for new EFL deal

As the fight between the majority of Championship clubs and Sky has been rolling on over the latest deal TV deal that the broadcasters have put to the EFL, Leeds supporters have been getting increasingly frustrated. Those frustrations have only been increased as it turns out Portsmouth have come out in favour of the deal, leading to plenty of the Whites slating the League One club.

You can read the article on Portsmouth backing of the EFL’s Sky Deal on The Yorkshire Evening Post. In truth, it’s not entirely surprising to see clubs in League One and League Two coming out to support the deal, seeing as they get a lot more money than their time live on TV entitles them to. In contrast, a club like Leeds who are on Sky upwards of 20 times a season are seriously losing out by getting just pennies from Sky.

With a bit of luck and a lot more fighting, the Championship clubs will eventually get what they’re entitled to. It just seems incredibly strange that not a lot is being made of this deal seeing as Premier League clubs are being paid well over the odds for what their time on TV when the likes of Leeds United and other top second division sides feature more prominently than bottom end Premier League sides like Huddersfield and Cardiff.

The Whites are fuming to see clubs like Pompey rolling over and agreeing to this deal and they’ll be hoping that enough clubs oppose it for a change to be made.
