Leeds United fans in The Transfer Tavern are discussing comments made by Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce about a loan move for one of his players.
The Yorkshire Evening Post is reporting that Allardyce sees Liam Bridcutt’s move to Leeds is confused like them. Allardyce, commenting on the players move to Leeds, said:
“It looks like it’s confused, like Leeds seem to be. It doesn’t look like it’s going through because he turned up here for training. I’ll have to pick the phone up and speak to Steve Evans about it.”
Steve Evans had hoped to bring the combative midfielder to the club this week, but suggested earlier in the week that the player might not be making the move to Elland Road, due to other clubs showing an interest in the player.
The Leeds manager conceded that any deal for the player would not be done in time for Saturday’s lunchtime game with Huddersfield Town. Speaking about Bridcutt, Evans said
“We’re literally just waiting now and I think he has the right to consider what options that he has. He’s not going to be joining me this afternoon and playing in a derby for Leeds United where he’s shouting ‘Frank’ but it’s really big Sol. That would be a bit difficult, wouldn’t it?”
“But we’ll have an answer by Sunday and if not, we’ll make a decision. I’m still confident and it’s the power of Leeds United really. It’s the power of this football club. I’m absolutely convinced that anybody that doesn’t want to sign for this club is bonkers.”
The Leeds United fans in The Transfer Tavern are in agreement with Evans statement, but also think that with the dark cloud over the club’s ownership is not helping the club in their search for new blood.
