Jack Harrison, who is on loan at Leeds United from Manchester City, has revealed why he “struggled” at first under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.
The current season is the third in which the winger has been on loan at the Yorkshire club from Man City, with Harrison having played under Bielsa for the entirety of his time at Elland Road.

Why did Harrison struggle under Bielsa?
The winger has been speaking to talkSPORT, where he spent some time talking about adapting to life under the Argentinian manager.
He described that experience of adapting to life under Bielsa as “very unorthodox,” while Harrison also shed some light on the type of relationship that Bielsa has with his players, saying: “You don’t get that approachability at all. He likes to keep his distance between players.”
The 24-year-old went on to share that Bielsa’s lack of approachability is something he initially “struggled” to get used to on arriving at Elland Road, saying: “I think I maybe struggled with that because I like to talk to the manager and maybe see different ways I can improve and not having that was a little bit strange for me but over time, I’ve learnt to adapt.”

Harrison’s development at Leeds United
In his first season at Leeds, the 2018/19 campaign, Harrison scored four goals and provided three assists in 37 Championship appearances.
The following season, the 2019/20 campaign in which Leeds won promotion to the Premier League, Harrison showed some improvement, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 46 Championship appearances.
This term, which is his first in the Premier League, Harrison has scored three goals and provided four assists in 17 top-flight appearances.
So, if Harrison did struggle at first under Bielsa, it may be fair to say that he has learned to thrive under the Argentinian, with the £8.1m-rated man currently boasting the joint-second-best goalscoring record and second-best assist record of any Whites player in the top flight this term.
