Leeds United battled to a 3-3 draw against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening thanks to a second-half strike from defender Diego Llorente.

Marcelo Bielsa reaped the rewards of sticking with Dan James in attack, with the Welshman lively throughout and netting twice in the opening 45 minutes.

However, a crazy 13-minute spell in the first half saw the hosts score three times, with Philippe Coutinho and Jacob Ramsey starring for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Even though there were some excellent individual displays for the Whites, there were also some poor ones. We’ve used statistical experts SofaScore to analyse who the three worst outfield performers (to have played at least 45 minutes) were.

In total, these three players lost the ball a whopping 65 times, were second best in 76% of their aerial and ground duels and made just two tackles all evening.

Jack Harrison – 5.7/10

Harrison, the hero in Leeds’ last away game against West Ham prior to the trip to the Midlands, struggled throughout.

Coming up against Matty Cash, the winger lost 12 of his 14 duels, gave the ball away on 24 occasions and was unsuccessful with all seven of his crosses.

Harrison also failed to have a shot on goal and failed to complete six of his seven dribble attempts, leaving him with a poor rating of 5.7/10.

Luke Ayling – 5.7/10

Ayling also matched Harrison with a 5.7/10 rating, and it’s clear to see how. The captain lost possession 16 times - more than any Leeds defender - and was second-best in nine of his 13 duels, making just two tackles.

The right-back also committed three fouls and appeared to struggle in the opening 45 minutes against Coutinho.

Raphinha – 6.3/10

Last up is Raphinha, who had a rare off night under Bielsa. The Brazilian lost seven of his ten duels and gave up possession 25 times.

The winger struggled with his delivery as well, completing just one of his eight crosses, and also didn’t contribute defensively, failing to make a tackle or interception all evening.

One has to wonder whether it was a mistake to throw him right back in for 90 minutes following his taxing trip to South America over the international break.
