Bundesliga side HSV Hamburg remain interested in signing Leeds United youngster Crysencio Summerville, according to a fresh transfer rumour.

The Lowdown: Summerville's lack of minutes

The 20-year-old is one of the Whites' most exciting young players currently, having been hailed as a 'runaway train' by journalist Beren Cross in the past for his ability to skip past players with the ball.

Summerville has found first-team opportunities hard to come by this season, however, playing just 119 minutes of Premier League action across five cameo appearances, playing more times for the Under-23s than any other team in his career.

Despite bagging ten goals and eight assists for the youth side though, it could be that Leeds allow the Dutchman to leave on a permanent basis this summer, with his current deal expiring at the end of next season, meaning they could lose him on a free transfer at that point.

The Latest: Hamburg eye up move

According to Frankfurter Rundschau [via Sport Witness], Hamburg are 'still interested' in acquiring Summerville's signature in the summer transfer window.

This comes after intense links to Die Rothosen in January, when Fabrizio Romano revealed a loan switch to the German outfit had 'collapsed'.

He is believed to be available for just €2million (£1.6m) due to his contract situation, with Leeds seemingly not seeing a long-term future for him at the club.

The Verdict: Move elsewhere makes sense

While the 5 foot 9 Summerville is undoubtedly a talented young attacking player, it is hard to see how he is going to force his way into Jesse Marsch's plans moving forward.

There are already the likes of Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Dan James ahead of him in the pecking order - all of whom are fairly young themselves - and the new manager will likely want to bring in signings of his choice this summer, too.

A move to Hamburg would improve Summerville's chances of playing week in, week out, rather than sitting on the substitutes' bench at Elland Road, at best.
