Leeds United are preparing to face Crystal Palace this weekend and will want to make up for their 4-1 defeat to Leicester City on Monday. Former Palace owner Simon Jordan may just have given them all the motivation they need.
Jordan’s comments on Bielsa and the club
Speaking on his talkSPORT show with Jim White, Jordan said: “I don’t bow at the temple of Bielsa like all these other managers seem to do. I don’t see that result as a surprise. (Loss vs Leicester) Brendan Rodgers is an elite manager. Leeds ain’t that good!”
Leeds will want to prove themselves
This tirade that Jordan has launched at the club and manager seems to add fuel to the fire in what is a very big game for both sides this weekend.
They both sit on ten points, six points from first, and seven points from the relegation zone (SofaScore). These are the type of matches that Leeds need to get victories from to show that they are not just in the division for a relegation battle.
Despite the club being on the end of a big loss against the Foxes, Leeds should have taken the lead early-on and also had multiple good chances to equalise. This highlights that they can battle with the best. It also showed that they have a lot of quality and aren’t here just to make up the numbers.
In other Leeds-related news, Phil Hay also provided an update on how the club feels about PPV. Have a read of what their stance is here!
