Leeds United are already plotting a move for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to TEAMtalk.

The Lowdown: Gracia in

The Whites finally ended their search for a new head coach on Tuesday by appointing Javi Gracia at Elland Road.

The 52-year-old has penned a flexible contract in Yorkshire which could see him remain in control for the 2023/24 campaign, should he keep Leeds in the Premier League.

It looks as if Gracia and Leeds are already planning for potential summer signings, with Gyokeres a target.

The Latest: Gyokeres update

TEAMtalk shared a transfer update on Gyokeres following Gracia’s arrival in Yorkshire. They said that Leeds are big admirers of the Coventry man and are plotting a move for the forward regardless of what division they find themselves in next season.

The report adds that the Whites think the Sweden international could be a key addition to the side.

The Verdict: Gracia’s first signing?

Should everything go well over the coming months and Gracia keep Leeds up, then Gyokeres could well be his first signing as manager.

Gyokeres, hailed by his manager Mark Robins for his "unbelievable" power and technique, has been in fine form this season and can play anywhere across the front three.

Primarily a striker, the 24-year-old has contributed to 19 goals in 33 games and has been one of Coventry’s top performers this season with a WhoScored average match rating of 7.06/10.

That score is better than any Leeds player, so this summer could be the perfect time for Gyokeres to make the step up to the top flight, hopefully with Leeds, who have scored just two goals in their last five top-flight games.
