Sunderland fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern haven’t had much to shout about this summer, and with yet another departure on the way; things are showing no signs of improving.
Liam Bridcutt was signed by Sunderland for £4 million in 2014, but his spell at Sunderland looks set to come to an end before it has even started.
After a year with Sunderland, Bridcutt was sent on loan to Leeds United towards the end of 2015, and he went on to make 24 league appearances in a spell that would extend towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
He performed well during the 7 month loan spell, and was eventually shortlisted for the in-house player of the year award, before losing out to Charlie Taylor.
Now it appears that Leeds are set to make the deal permanent, with Bridcutt reportedly set to undergo a medical at the club this evening before signing a two-year contract thereafter.
