Leeds United may well have been dealt a boost in the fight to sign Rodrigo De Paul after Calciomercato revealed the Argentinian did not want to move to Juventus during the January transfer window.
De Paul made big call
Leeds have been linked with a move for the midfielder (The Sun), but he has so far remained in Italy with Udinese.
Juve were said to be eyeing De Paul during the January transfer window, but the 26-year-old revealed he was eager to stay with his current employers, at least for now.
Boost for Leeds?
This could well be good news for Marcelo Bielsa and co. He may not have been high up on the list of options for the Bianconeri, but the fact he was still on their radar shows how impressive he is. In the summer, the Serie A champions will likely eye their top targets, which would significantly reduce Leeds’ competition for De Paul.
Would you like to sign de Paul?
With five goals and three assists in 22 matches in all competitions this term (Transfermarkt), the former Valencia man continues to display the qualities that have made Leeds admirers.
Add that to the fact he ‘lacks absolutely nothing’ according to his former manager Julio Velazquez (TuttoMercatoWeb) and you have a real player on your hands.
In other news, Leeds eye this midfielder.
