Louie Sibley should think twice before making the decision to move to Leeds United from Derby County.
That’s according to former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips, who recently spoke to Football Insider where he shared his thoughts on the possibility of the 19-year-old Rams man moving to Leeds.
Long-term Orta target
The Whites’ director of football, Victor Orta, also confirmed his interest in bringing the attacking midfielder to the Yorkshire club back in the summer transfer window, per the Yorkshire Evening Post, where it’s also explained that Leeds made enquiries about Sibley, though they ultimately didn’t end up securing his signature.
What has Phillips said about Sibley potentially joining Leeds United?
Following Hay’s update that Leeds are “keeping their eye on” the Derby County academy product, Phillips, who claims to know Sibley “well,” has shared that if he were representing the teenager, he would “be very wary” about taking him to a club where he’s not guaranteed weekly game time, while he also shared that he has doubts over whether or not Sibley would get the game time he requires at Elland Road.
Will Leeds United sign Sibley?
So, it seems like Phillips believes that the 19-year-old would be better off avoiding a move to Leeds for now, in favour of continuing to develop at a club where he is more likely to enjoy regular first-team minutes.
In other news, details have emerged on Marcelo Bielsa’s plan for Robbie Gotts.
