‘Let him go’, ‘I’ll supply the bus fare’ – West Ham fans welcome possible move for 27-year-old

West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern were left to lament another defeat for their side over the weekend, this time at the hands of Tottenham.

Slaven Bilic’s men began the new season with three consecutive Premier League defeats to increase the pressure on the Croat, but hit back in recent weeks with a win over Huddersfield and a draw at West Brom in the league, as well as a Carabao Cup success over Bolton Wanderers.

However, their resurgence came to a shuddering halt following a 3-2 loss at home to Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs on Saturday afternoon, a result which has been compounded by a recent report from Tutto Mercato Web (via Football.London), which outlines a possible January departure from the London Stadium, namely Andre Ayew.

The 27-year-old only moved to the club in the summer of 2016 after impressing for Swansea City, but has been unable to recapture that form in East London with just eight goals in 33 games for the Hammers.

Injury just 35 minutes into his West Ham debut hardly helped the matter, but he has since upon his return to fitness struggled to nail down a spot in Bilic’s starting eleven with just three league starts so far this term.

And reports suggest that the Ghana international could well be on his way out of the club in January, as Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly eyeing up a move for the forward, given manager Luciano Spalletti’s reported interest in Ayew which dates back to his time in charge of Roma.

And news of a possible move for Ayew in the New Year has stimulated quite a response from West Ham supporters on Twitter, with many hoping that the 27-year-old does indeed make the move to Milan in January…

Fingers crossed

Take him he’s average at best

Surely it’s a no-brainer, take the money, just as we should’ve done with Sakho and Carroll come to think of it. Facts don’t lie! Do they?

Go on then. He can go.

I hope they do! 25 million plus and they can have him. Or can we swap him for the manager?

Hopefully
