Tottenham fans are enjoying themselves at the moment and it is easy to see why.
They head into this Premier League weekend on the back of a superb Christmas period which ended with a spectacular 5-3 win over Chelsea at White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side also have a Capital One Cup semi-final with Sheffield United scheduled for this month and a genuine possibility of booking a date at Wembley for a major cup final.
In Harry Kane, Spurs boast perhaps the most in-form striker in the country whilst they appear to be the side that has all the momentum in the race for fourth place and that final Champions League qualification spot.
With the way in which things have been going lately, Tottenham has suddenly become an attractive destination for players on the lookout for a new club this month.
But some of the rumours concerning those who could be on the move to White Hart Lane seem a little far-fetched.
Here we have gone through the rumours and identified five players we simply can’t see moving to Tottenham this month.

Morgan Schneiderlin
Pochettino has been desperate to sign Morgan Schneiderlin since he arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer and saw three bids for the French international rejected in the summer.
If that was the case then, given the way things have unfolded since, we can only see a repeat. Southampton are flying at the moment and fancy their chances of competing with Tottenham for that fourth spot.
With that in mind, they will not be keen to sell to a direct rival at the midway point of the season. North London rivals Arsenal are also keen on Schneiderlin and may have a better opportunity given they have a Champions League campaign to look forward to in the second half of the campaign – and Schneiderlin would not be cup-tied.
Jay Rodriguez
The Southampton striker was one of the Premier League stars of last season and was the second highest scoring Englishman in the division – only behind Daniel Sturridge.
Rodriguez suffered a horror injury in April however and has not kicked a ball since. That has not stopped Tottenham and former boss Pochettino registering an interest but January will surely come too soon for the England striker to make the switch.
Rodriguez will surely want to focus on his recovery first and foremost, then easing his way back into the Southampton side over the second half of the season.
Wilfried Bony
No player scored more Premier League goals in 2014 than the Swansea City striker and Tottenham have been linked with a move since the summer.
But now Manchester City have emerged, Spurs fans can forget about Bony swapping the white of Swansea for the white of Tottenham. The agent of the Ivory Coast international says a £30 million move to Manchester City should be completed ‘within the next few days’, putting to bed any hopes of Tottenham bringing the powerful forward to White Hart Lane.
Kevin Mirallas
The Everton winger showed Tottenham fans what he can do at close quarters this season, scoring a stunning goal in the Toffees 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.
The Belgian is yet to sign a new contract at Goodison Park, prompting talk of a January switch. But with Everton currently struggling at the wrong end of the table, Roberto Martinez is under enough pressure as it is without selling one of his prized assets to a club which Everton ultimately want to be competing with.
This is a deal which could well happen later on down the line depending on whether the Toffees can turn things around but allowing the Belgian to leave this month would be suicide for Martinez.
Ezequiel Lavezzi
The 29-year-old has been out-of-favour at Paris Saint-Germain and is reportedly keen to move this month. Tottenham have been linked but then you would wonder why this is a deal that has not already happened if they were seriously interested?
Lavezzi was available for £16 million in the summer and is set to cost only £8 million this month. With Pochettino being a former Argentine international himself, you feel this is a deal that could have been tied up already had Spurs really wanted him.
Perhaps Lavezzi’s recent admission that he often thinks about retiring and only continues to play football for the financial benefits may have had something to do with it.
