Spurs are making as good a fist as anyone in the race to challenge Chelsea for Premier League title glory this term, sitting in second place and continually impressing with their performances.
Mauricio Pochettino has done an excellent job of blending youth and experience to create one of England’s most exciting teams, and the Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted with how things have gone under the Argentine.
At the time of writing, Pochettino was preparing his troops for a tough home game against Bournemouth. Our landlord has been spending some time with the Spurs fans over by the jukebox this week, and although focus is on the game with the Cherries, attentions have also drifted to the summer transfer window.
Plenty of comments have been made by the fans about a few players who need to be moved on and replaced at White Hart Lane, and we can’t help but agree.
So, with this in mind, here are THREE Spurs players who could be on their way this summer…
Vincent Janssen
It just has not happened thus far for the big Dutch striker, who was brought in for a hefty fee in the summer transfer window just gone.
With Harry Kane firmly the club’s number one striker and Son also bagging plenty of goals, Janssen could well be moved on, with a move back to his homeland looking the most likely option at the moment.
Moussa Sissoko
Another summer signing who has not quite panned out as planned, Sissoko might well be sold on again by Pochettino.
He has done little in terms of reproducing the form he showed for Newcastle or France in the summer of 2016, and at £30m, is looking like turning into an expensive flop for Spurs and their manager.
Kevin Wimmer
The big defender is not exactly first choice at White Hart Lane, and with Spurs wanting to progress so they can challenge both in Europe and on a domestic front, more might be needed at centre half.
Wimmer might well be one of the players to suffer the chop from Pochettino, and it would not be the end of the world if he was moved on and a replacement brought in to the club.
