Roman Pavlyuchenko has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for several months and it seems his agent is now getting frustrated with the club’s reluctance to let him leave.
Although Harry Redknapp is happy for the Russian international to seek first-team football elsewhere, Spurs’ valuation of him could scupper any chances of a move.
Pavlyuchenko’s agent, Oleg Artemov told the Daily Mail last week: “We can’t agree about the price with Mr. Levy. He values Pavlyuchenko according to his own gauge. I don’t really know how he’s counting.”
It is thought that Spurs want to recoup all of the £13.8million they spent on Pavlyuchenko in 2008, despite the player never having held down a regular first-team place.
Things might be about to change though, with SkySports reporting that Rubin Kazan are ready to open talks with Daniel Levy over a move for the striker.
Rubin press chief said: “Of course I’m Roman’s great admirer. He’s a great international footballer. But I can’t say anything about a move to Rubin. First, I don’t know the answer, second, I’m not the right person to discuss transfer news.”
Although he has showed glimpses of his capabilities, Pavlyuchenko has never been completely in favour with Redknapp and a return to Russia could be just what he needs to kick-start his career again.
