The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting their hopes up of seeing Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road this season after reading a story from Phil Hay in the Yorkshire Evening Post that claims the players have been warned that they’ll need to be back for pre-season early if Bielsa is appointed. This news has got more than a couple of Leeds fans off their seats.

Having a figure like Bielsa in the Championship would be ludicrous. The Argentine gaffer has managed club’s in some of Europe’s top domestic leagues and he’s also been the international gaffer for South American big hitters, Argentina and Chile, however, now Bielsa could be set to take his first job in English football as a deal to take him to Elland Road edges closer and closer.
This is one appointment that the Whites are happy to get excited about too after the uninspiring Paul Heckingbottom was thrown into the hot seat at the Yorkshire club back in February. If Bielsa does get handed the reigns at Leeds, the fans can expect big things, the last time a manager of his calibre took on the Championship was when Rafa Benitez decided to stay at Newcastle following their relegation, and he brought them straight back up.

Leeds fans can start to get their hopes up for a Premier League return if Marcelo Bielsa is the next man through the door at Elland Road. The man described as the best coach in the world by Pep Guardiola would be an unbelievable coup for The Whites and the fans all know it.
