Liverpool defender Adam Lewis looks set to be loaned out to French club Amiens for the upcoming season in a move with which plenty of Reds fans agree.
The Athletic journalist James Pearce tweeted (via @JamesPearceLFC) that the 20-year-old, who signed a new deal at Anfield last month, is set to have a medical with the Ligue 2 club today ahead of a season-long loan move. French media outlet RMC Sport had also reported [via Get French Football News] of the impending transfer.
#LFC youngster Adam Lewis, who signed a new long-term contract last month, set to join French club Amiens on a season-long loan. Medical pencilled in for Monday. Great move for the left-back. Chance to play regular first-team football.

The left-back was given his senior Liverpool debut as part of a youthful Reds side in the FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury last February, his only first team appearance to date but one which earned him plenty of praise from Kopites.

Already having to compete with Andrew Robertson for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s side, he appears to have been bumped further back in the queue following the recent arrival of Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiakos.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter are pleased to see Lewis, who one supporter described as a “cracking player”, set to obtain senior game-time with his impending loan move to France:
Will be good experience for him. You could say the loan deal was Amiens to an end.

Fair play, a move that makes perfect sense, We wish him all the best.

This should be a really good move for Lewis. He’ll learn something new, experience a different technical system and get proper first team football for the first time. Excited to track how he does!

Good move for the kid, there’s got to be a reason Amiens are chasing him

Disappointed that he’s not found a club in the UK tbh. Cracking player, been unlucky injury wise, needs a change of luck

Hopefully he can have an injury free season, the kid has a bucket load of talent and hopefully that’s unleashed over his loan spell YNWA Lewie

That’s great news. Would much rather we sent our young prospects abroad out of the spotlight to learn.
