Liverpool: Fans appalled by official club annoucement

Many Liverpool fans were not impressed with the club’s official announcement that was made on Wednesday morning.

The Reds released a new strip that is dedicated to Nike’s famous collection of trainers, while Chelsea and Tottenham have received similar tributes – they also have the American sportswear company as their kit provider.

Liverpool have been handed a white pinstripe design, using the same template as the club’s third shirt, with Nike Air boldly stitched and no sponsor on the shirt.

This is the first full season that the Merseysiders have had with them after winning a High Court case against former providers New Balance, who attempted to trigger a renewal clause in their previous contract but were ultimately ousted from the club.

From a design perspective, supporters were appalled by the kit itself, with some associating it to their side’s recent slump.
