Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been chuckling away at a prediction made by Richard Keys at the start of the season, when he claimed that given the business that Everton had been doing in the summer transfer window they could finish ahead of neighbours, Liverpool, this season.

Since tweeting his prediction back in July, Keys has been made to look silly by the awful season the Goodison Park faithful have had to endure as a number of high profile signings have failed to deliver, leaving the club in a below par 11th. At this stage, it’s safe to say that Everton aren’t in danger of plying their trade in the Championship next season, although when you consider they started the year playing Europa League football and with ambitions of cracking the top six, it’s been pretty dismal so far.
Keys, who left his job at Sky back in 2011 under a cloud of controversy, has been ridiculed on Twitter by Liverpool fans. Indeed, the Reds are currently enjoying a very successful campaign as they find themselves sitting 3rd place in the Premier League whilst also still alive in the Champions League after thumping Porto 5-0 away in the first leg of their round-of-sixteen tie.

Or this from Alan Stubbs ‘”For me it makes a change because normally we always see transfer business across the park first.
“Now, I think they are looking over here envious at what Everton are doing at the moment.”
