Liverpool have struggled in their Premier League title-defending campaign, and now a new bombshell has rocked Merseyside.
Egyptian talisman Mohamed Salah has revealed that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after nine magical years leading the forward line.
The 33-year-old star is expected to leave Liverpool as a free agent after a difficult season, which came after a controversial interview where he claimed that he had no relationship with manager Arne Slot and was being scapegoated for the team’s struggles.
It is unclear whether this has contributed to Salah agreeing to leave halfway through his new contract, but one thing is for sure – it will be incredibly difficult to replace him.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are plotting a move for Bayern Munich star Michael Olise as a replacement for their elite right winger.
The publication claims that Anfield representatives are hopeful they can convince the Bundesliga giants to part ways with their forward, but it is unlikely to be an easy deal to get over the line.
Olise is under contract until 2029, and in terms of financial investment, he is valued at €140m (£121m).
Should Liverpool sign Michael Olise?

There is no doubt that Salah has been a shadow of himself over the current campaign, but his presence, influence and achievements wearing a Liverpool shirt will go down in history.
FSG made significant investment in the attacking threat over last summer with the acquisitions of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, though they have yet to make the connection and find the consistency needed to reach the levels expected.
The lack of prolific players in front of goal has been one of the most damning issues for Liverpool this season, so using Salah’s exit as an opportunity to invest in a proven goal-scorer will be absolutely imperative.
Over 39 appearances this season, Olise – once hailed as a “magician” by teammate Dayot Upamecano – has scored 16 goals and registered a whopping 27 assists so far, demonstrating his unrivalled goal threat.
With strengths in dribbling, passing, set-pieces and finishing, the 24-year-old talent is the dream signing to add quality and strength to Liverpool’s attacking threat, and his Premier League experience with Crystal Palace makes him an ideal prospect too.
All things considered, it would be a no-brainer for Liverpool to sign Olise this summer; the only problem would be convincing Bayern to part ways with the winger, as he has proven to be integral to their recent successes.
