Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking up with annoyance as Metro seem to think that the Gunners might be considering a shock offer for Joel Campbell.
The Costa Rican international forward has not been given the chance our punters wanted to see him handed this season despite – in our view – doing more than enough to impress us at the World Cup.
With first team chances at a minimum with the Gunners, Campbell has now been linked with a loan move away – possibly to Swansea City once the January transfer window opens.
That said, it seems that Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers are willing to go one better.
Rodgers is a known admirer of the forward and is desperate to get someone in at the club who can score goals and keep a low profile off the field – something that Campbell has proven he can do.
Whilst our Liverpool fans are slightly excited at this prospect, the majority of our Arsenal supporters think this is a shocking idea that would only prove how out of touch Arsene Wenger really is!
