Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are very happy that their side got a point from Manchester City last night though they feel that they could have won the game.
The Toffees were tactically superb last night as they held Manchester City off for much of the game and once Wayne Rooney had scored and Kyle Walker had been sent off, they looked favourites for the win.
However, City eventually got back into it with a Raheem Sterling strike and it would finish 1-1 but many of our Toffees think it’s an early sign that they can compete at the very top.
For sure, if Rooney can keep up his early goal scoring form the Blues are going to be some side this year and after the game the striker took to Twitter to reflect on things.
