The Citizens in the Transfer Tavern have been admiring how good their defensive line really is, as this defensive stat shows that the Sky Blues have conceded just 20 goals in their 30 Premier League games this season. The stat becomes even more impressive when you factor in that four of those 20 came in just under an hour of football away at Anfield earlier in the season.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are set to win the Premier League earlier than any other team has ever won it, as they continue to obliterate record after record in what has been a truly incredible domestic campaign for the Etihad faithful. City have scored a whopping 85 goals in 30 games this season, averaging almost three goals per game, as their impenetrable defence is matched by their ruthless front line.
Last season was a tough one for Guardiola as he suffered his first full season as a manager without winning silverware. Although the Spaniard seems set to make up for it this season as the Manchester club are cantering towards the Premier League crown, whilst also going strong in the Champions League as they aim to add more trophies to the League Cup they won last month.

rival fans say our defense hasn't been tested. hence the point of possession. keep the ball and the opponent can't score. makes sense to me

Best defensive record & most goals scored. Not bad for a team with a “suspect defence” & “don’t score enough” both MOTD quotes

Kompany – injuries, Mendy – long term injury, Stones – injuries and illness, Delph- injuries, – Best defensive record in League. City’s defence really is suspect

Yet our defense is one of the worst in the PL.
