The Manchester Derby didn’t disappoint – if you were either a neutral or a Manchester City fan.
United supporters, on the other hand, have a lot to be upset with.
Mourinho’s side were totally outclassed by a City team who didn’t even look at their best. United’s attacking players were left totally isolated up top, with Ander Herrara and Nemanja Matic showing absolutely no creative ability nor attacking initiative.
Countless wayward passes from the two players were intercepted by Guardiola’s side who then went about systematically dismantling their weak and helpless opponents with some of the finest tiki-taka football we’ve seen to date. United’s response? Give the ball away again, and again, and again, and again.
If City were more clinical with their opportunities we could have been looking at a cricket score.
There’s no doubt that, without Pogba in midfield, Manchester United have no real attacking impetus. And this was no more evident than in today’s game.
