Manchester United fans have been clashing with their Arsenal counterparts in the Transfer Tavern this afternoon after it emerged the Red Devils have joined the hunt for one of their rival’s targets.
TuttoSport state United are set to beat Arsenal to the signature of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, who is poised to leave Turin in January after a severe lack of playing time with the struggling Serie A champions.
The 21-year-old starred for Empoli over the past two seasons, earning a wealth of Serie A experience, but the Italian U21 international has played just two minutes of football since Juventus bought the player’s full-rights over the summer.
Fiorentina and Sampdoria are also said to be interested in the young defender and the growing interest will be a concern for Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of the Italian stalwart.
However Arsenal fans in the Tavern aren’t too concerned as they believe their duo of Per Mertsacker, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista is sufficient, whilst pointing out that Calum Chambers and Nacho Monreal can play centrally if required.
