Defensively, Man Utd have struggled this season – and so it would come as no surprise to learn that Jose Mourinho is considering adding to his defensive depth.
Perhaps more surprising, however, is that it would appear that he is looking closer to home than first expected…
According to the Sun, Man Utd are considering recalling Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his loan at Wolves, with Mourinho keen to solve his defensive injury crisis.
Interestingly, they add that Man Utd have an instant recall option included with the deal – and so it would be no hassle to bring him back to Old Trafford.
Our landlord thinks that this is particularly surprising given that many in the Tavern expected Mourinho to head into the transfer market in January in order to bring in new faces – with the Portuguese manager not renowned for his focus on youth.
The Man Utd fans in the Tavern are pleased, though. Borthwick-Jackson proved that he was more than capable of performing in the Premier League last season, and a loan move was established purely to get him game-time. With Utd struggling defensively now – he could be given the chance that he craves.
