The Man Utd fans leaning by the bar in the Transfer Tavern are excited to see what Mourinho can do in the transfer market…
The Portuguese boss, after a slow start, has finally managed to turn his disappointing side around – with the Red Devils currently embarking on quite an impressive unbeaten streak in all competitions.
His side is far from complete, however, and there have been a few calls in the Transfer Tavern for some serious business to go down with regards to personnel in the squad.
Whilst the majority of the focus amongst the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern is on who might be joining the club, it would appear that there could be a few significant departures this month, too…
One name frequently mentioned as of late is Memphis Depay, with the Dutch winger touted with a move to Everton – but according to the Sun, that move will only happen on one condition.
The Sun are reporting that Depay will be allowed to move to Everton – but only if the deal is a permanent one. A loan move could have made sense for Koeman, allowing him to assess the disappointing Dutchman – but it would appear as though Mourinho is hesitant for that to be the case, instead preferring to move the winger on permanently.
Whilst many of the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern would have rather seen a loan deal, they aren’t too concerned about the idea of bringing him in permanently. There is no denying the talent that Depay has, particularly when looking at his breakout season in the Dutch league prior to his Man Utd move. Goals, dribbling, dynamic attacking play – he can do it all.
Our landlord thinks that if Koeman puts a bit of faith into Depay – the sky could be the limit for the undoubtedly talented youngster. After all, he is only 22-years-old…
