Saudi Pro League clubs Al Ahli and Al Qadsiah are interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva next year. Silva has been admired in the middle east for a while now, and was the subject of interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League previously.
Silva in fact turned down a whopping £700,000-a-week contract from Al Hilal early last summer, making it clear his preference ahead of this summer’s World Cup was to stay in Manchester. TalkSport has reported that Silva has held intermittent talks with Saudi dealmakers since 2023, and has considered making the move in the past.
It is now other clubs in Saudi Arabia that are interested in pursuing a move for the player. Any such talks would likely only resume next summer though, as the midfielder remains an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side.
He’s started four of the first six Premier League games so far for City. Since joining City from Monaco in 2017, Silva has played a key role in the City side that captured six Premier League titles and one Champions League title in eight years.
With over 400 appearances for the club, he is one of City’s longest serving and most decorated players in club history. Silva is now 31 years of age, and could see a lucrative Saudi Arabia move as the perfect twilight to his career.
Silva on Saudi Pro League radar

Man City News adds that Saudi Pro League officials are keen to add more Portuguese stars to their league in 2026 due to the audience built from Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr in 2023. This was evidenced by Al Hilal’s failed approach for Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes last summer.
The Saudi Pro League’s new international TV cycle runs until 2028/29 and has seen a 20 per cent increase in revenue, with the league now aired across 180 territories. With Ronaldo’s contract due to expire in the summer of 2027, and the 40-year-old unlikely to sign a new extension, Saudi Pro league officials are targeting more Portuguese stars.
League officials would prefer Silva to sign a four-year contract to take him to the end of the next TV cycle. After Al Hilal’s failed attempt to sign Silva, more recent enquiries have come from Al Ahli and Al Qadsiah.
