Following the latest response from Pep Guardiola regarding a potential future stint in Serie A, Manchester City fans were quick to dismiss the speculation in the buildup to Sunday’s trip to Anfield.
The Premier League champions take on league leaders Liverpool in arguably their most highly anticipated clash of the season so far, aiming for a win that could reduce the gap at the top to just three points.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Guardiola was asked again about his potential managerial future – with a stint in Italy’s top division on the agenda considering he hasn’t coached there yet.
Guardiola spoke to Sky in Italy, with the Spaniard open to the possibility of moving to Serie A in the future:
“Training in Italy? Why not. It was a pleasure [to be there] as a player, with the great [Carlo] Mazzone [former Brescia manager]. I had a great time and I love the country but now I feel good in England, it’s a great championship. But maybe yes, I’m not that old.”
