Manchester City’s 6-1 demolition of Aston Villa on Sunday night saw Sergio Aguero break the record for the most Premier League goals by an overseas player and also for the most hat-tricks in Premier League history, 12. However, another talking point among fans was just how good Kevin De Bruyne is.
The Belgian now has 14 assists this season (via WhoScored) and is looking likely to run Thierry Henry close to his record for the most assists in one Premier League season, 20. His pass from the right wing to find Gabriel Jesus for a tap-in was inch perfect and ensured he took two assists from the game.
No player has been directly involved in more goals this season in the entire Premier League, 21, but this pass will go down as one of the greatest assists he’ll have made in his career. Many fans who saw it were quick to take to Twitter in shock at how good it was, and some replied to City’s tweet announcing the goal to show how amazed they were.
