According to a report from Turkish newspaper Sabah via Sport Witness, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is ‘crazy’ about Juventus defender Merih Demiral and could look to bring the centre-back to the Etihad Stadium for a fee worth around £38.2 million – resulting in some Sky Blues supporters hailing the potential business.

Demiral, who has amassed an impressive 1.5 tackles on average per game whilst accumulating a 91.7% pass success rate in just four Serie A outings for Juventus, as per WhoScored.com, is reportedly seen as a defensive acquisition with great potential to play in a Guardiola-like side.
By comparison, City’s current natural centre back pairing of John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi have grown similar numbers when it comes to playing out from the back – with both players garnering a 92.4% and 93.9% average in the league respectively this campaign.
As a result, Demiral seems like a natural fit for Guardiola as a defender who looks comfortable on the ball – exciting these Sky Blues supporters into praying for his signature.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Replacing Nico? Gwan then.
