Responding to a post by Man City Xtra, detailing the fact that ex-defender Eliaquim Mangala has been diagnosed with the coronavirus, many Sky Blues supporters have flocked to show support for their former player on Twitter – calling the Valencia man a ‘legend‘ and citing the fact he ‘always worked hard‘.
Mangala, who left City for the La Liga club last summer on a permanent deal, could never quite adjust to life in Manchester after signing from FC Porto back in 2015. The Frenchman, who struggled for game time ahead of the likes of John Stones, Vincent Kompany and Nicolas Otamendi when plying his trade at Eastlands, has now been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is currently in self isolation despite having no symptoms.
The coronavirus is a contagious illness which has forced the Premier League and EFL to suspend all football action until April 3rd at the earliest. Now, responding to the news, many Sky Blues have expressed sympathy towards Mangala on social media and are hopeful that he manages to shake off the virus soon.
Here’s what they had to say.

Get well soon big Quim. Although he was never a fan favourite, he never talked bad about the club.
