Last night’s Carabao Cup fourth-round draw threw out some great ties! For Manchester City’s cup challengers, the draw couldn’t have got much worse, with Manchester United facing Chelsea and Liverpool playing Arsenal. However, Pep Guardiola may be rubbing his hands together at the prospect of facing Southampton at home.
While there have been suggestions that City’s recent cup runs have been far too easy, tackling Southampton on their own turf shouldn’t be too difficult either – particularly if the team prove to be as imperious as they were against Watford last weekend.
After hearing the draw’s outcome, fans took to the club’s official Twitter account to give their thoughts. Many were confident and pleased they’d got a home draw, particularly after nine of their last 15 League Cup ties had them drawn playing away from home. Although, some fans said they would have preferred a game against one of their biggest rivals instead.
