Manchester City fans ran out of patience with defender John Stones after his side’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the Etihad on Saturday.
The Citizens’ defending was exposed as the Red Devils’ Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial scored the goals that handed the bragging rights to the red side of Manchester.
Nicholas Otamendi scored late on to set up a thrilling finale but the hosts could not find a reply and slipped further behind their Premier League title rivals Liverpool.
City fans were unhappy with their team’s performance but were particularly displeased with one player in particular.
John Stones played for just under an hour before he went off injured in the second half, but was at the forefront of the Ethiad faithful’s frustrations.
During his time on the pitch, he did not make any successful tackles, interceptions or blocks and only made one clearance.
Supporters were livid with the Englishman’s showing and made their feelings clear about it on social media.
