Manchester City are keen on Tottenham right back Pedro Porro and could land him for significantly less than his £80m evaluation. City are in the market for a new right back, with midfielder Matheus Nunes deputizing in that position for most of the season.
The club has identified Porro as a top target in that position and could land him in a cut-price deal over the summer due to Tottenham’s precarious position in the Premier League table. Spurs are just one point out of the relegation zone, a result which would see the club lose at least £200m in sponsorship deals almost instantly.
Football Insider has reported that Spurs could be prepared to offload some if not all of their key names to offset this loss, placing Porro and others in the shop window this summer. Porro is valued at by the club at around £80m, but Tottenham would likely have to accept less to recoup much needed funds in the event of relegation.
City keen on Porro

Porro was previously on the books at City from 2019-2022, but never made a senior appearance after two successive loans. A one-season loan to Vallodolid was followed by a two-season loan to Sporting before the move to the latter was made permanent in 2022.
Porro then joined Tottenham in 2023 and has become a key figure for the Lillywhites. The player has previously expressed an interest in playing in Italy, but he could be tempted to join Pep Guardiola’s men instead.
The Spain international won’t be short on suitors with Real Madrid and Inter Milan previously credited with interest in the player. City are expected to make wholesale changes this summer, with both incomings and outgoings expected.
New sporting director Hugo Viana was instrumental in signing Porro for Sporting when he worked previously for the club, and is expected to oversee plenty of transfer activity this summer.
A move for Pedro Porro would likely spell the end for Matheus Nunes who has been pushed out of his preferred midfield position to cover in right back. Lack of opportunity may see the player seek a move away.
Long term servant Bernardo Silva has already confirmed he will depart the club when his contract expires in the summer, while uncertainty remains over the futures of Mateo Kovacic, Savinho, and Omar Marmoush.
On loan pair Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips are also expected to seek permanent moves away.
