Manchester United may already have secured Champions League football for next season, but attention is quickly turning toward what promises to be a huge summer at Old Trafford.
With Casemiro set to depart at the end of the campaign, strengthening the midfield is expected to be one of the club’s top priorities, while further additions across the squad, including in defence, are also likely after an encouraging turnaround under Michael Carrick.
At the same time, United are equally focused on keeping hold of the players they see as central to the club’s future.
Amid recent speculation linking one emerging star with a surprise move away, the Red Devils have now reportedly made their stance crystal clear.
Diallo Not Leaving Man Utd
Manchester United have reportedly rejected suggestions that Amad Diallo could leave Old Trafford this summer, with the club continuing to view the 23-year-old as a major figure in their long-term project.
The Ivory Coast international — once described as “brilliant” by captain Bruno Fernandes — has enjoyed a resurgence since Carrick’s arrival, particularly after being moved into a more advanced attacking role.
Under Ruben Amorim, Amad had often been used deeper as a wing-back, but the tactical shift has allowed him to showcase more of his creativity and attacking flair in the final third.
According to TEAMtalk, the player is extremely happy with both his role and life under Carrick, believing the current system suits his game far better.
There had been reports suggesting interest from elsewhere, including Sunderland, where Amad previously starred during a successful loan spell. However, sources close to United have reportedly dismissed the idea of a summer exit entirely.
Club insiders see Diallo as one of the most exciting young attackers at Old Trafford and a player they are eager to build around in the years ahead.
Sporting director Jason Wilcox is also said to have played a significant role in reaffirming the club’s commitment earlier this year when Amad signed a new long-term contract in January — a move viewed internally as a huge vote of confidence.
United believe the winger still has enormous potential to unlock, with his versatility, technical ability and eye for goal making him an increasingly important player heading into next season.
After finally finding consistency and a role tailored to his strengths, it would make little sense for United to entertain offers now — especially with the club aiming to re-establish itself among Europe’s elite once again.
