Manchester United fans have blasted journalist Rob Blanchette for his ‘negative spin’ on the club’s current clearout of players.
Blanchette said that the reason for the clearout was to meet the yearly profit projections rather than actually let go of the deadwood at the club.
A raft of Manchester United players have been let go on either permanent or loan deals to clubs around Europe, with some having question marks over their futures.
Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have left the club for Serie A side Internazionale on permanent and loan deals respectively.
Meanwhile, Chris Smalling has completed his loan move to fellow Italian side AS Roma.
According to the BBC, Matteo Darmian is expected to leave the club before the close of the transfer window in Europe, with doubts also remaining over the future of Marcos Rojo.
Fans were quick to call out the Blanchette for his view on the clearout at Old Trafford, with many not best pleased with his viewpoint.

When you want to view something as bad, you can always spin it that way we’ve been after a massive clearout for years and when it happens you still moan
