There is some major drama kicking off here in the Football Transfer Tavern after Metro claimed that Manchester United could well be set to launch a sensational raid on another Premier League club for one of their brightest young stars.
David Moyes has reportedly got his eye on Andros Townsend and that is something that has the majority of our Lilywhites here in the tavern up in arms.
As our landlord tries to hand out some free shots to calm the situation down, it seems that Townsend is top of David Moyes’ wishlist.
One of our punters even quips that the Manchester United manager is certainly getting comfortable with raiding his fellow clubs, having just landed the record buy of Juan Mata, and now England star Townsend seems to be his next target.
Metro have some even more worrying news for Tim Sherwood and his men, as they note: “Andros was one of Everton’s summer targets before Moyes left.
“And the impact Andros has had in the first half of this season – establishing himself at Spurs and making an instant impact for England – has not gone unnoticed.
“There is a view that he is seen as a longer-term replacement for the likes of Antonio Valencia and Nani on United’s flanks.”
